Introduction:
Started in Aug 1999, SS23 BEC is now 9 years old. It consists of the families in the whole SS23 area. For the time being, two families in Kayu Ara are also included in this BEC.
We are closely knitted community. Majority of the families are in the age group of having school going children. But there are also good mix of other family profiles e.g. senior citizens and working adult children, enriching the BEC with experiences of all phases of life.
Main Activities:
- Weekly Holy Rosary devotion in the months of May & October
- Weekly Way of the Cross devotion during Lent season
- Monthly reflection paper
- Home Mass
- SS23 BEC Anniversary party in the month of August
- Christmas party during Christmas season
- BEC Christmas caroling
- Charity activity during Lent e.g. visit to home of under-privilege, old nuns, Father Nathan’s orang asli farm etc.
SS23 BEC quarterly newsflash which informs upcoming activities is published every quarter. It is distributed to each family through road reps.

Additional information:
In addition to the regularly usually organized activities as outlined above, we do a variety of other ad-hoc activities.
Some of the examples are as below:
- For fund raising, we have held Coffee Morning in SIC, jumbo sales etc.
- Easter BBQ gathering, Chinese New Year ‘yee-sang’ gathering.
- Other than happy occasions, we also gather to give support in time of sorrow e.g. the 7-days prayer for the deceased.
