Introduction:
SIC Sunday school began about 21 years ago with just a small group of children. We have grown to more than 900 children from the English-speaking group and more than 200 from the Mandarin-speaking group.
Special care and emphasis is given to children preparing the Sacraments of Baptism (RCIC/RCIT), First Holy Communion and Confirmation. Sunday school also organizes formation camps for these children. Additional activities are organized for children of the Confirmation classes to enable these children to live out their faith. These activities include visits to homes for disabled children, Little Sisters of the Poor and others.
Sunday school also actively encourages parents to journey with their children in preparation for the Sacraments. In this respect, parents’ sessions, talks and seminars are organized for them.
Sunday school also provides and nurtures children who have not been baptized into the Catholic faith. These children are invited to journey with the rest of the children in their class.
The English-speaking group has about 86 catechists and 20 administration team members. Seminars, formations and retreats are provided for the catechists.
Classes range from pre-school 1 (five years old) to post-Confirmation (16/17 years old) and are held as follows:
| 9:10 am - 10:30 am | - Mandarin session |
| 10:30 am - 11:45 am | - English session |
