![]() | Rev Fr Philip Tan Chong Men, Parish Priest He was born in Seremban in 1965, the third child of Mr and Mrs Peter Tan. In 1985, Philip joined the Congregation of the Disciples of the Lord (CDD) in Melaka. A year and three months later, he was sent to Yang Ming Shan in Taipei, Taiwan as a novice. On 15 August 1987, on the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, he made his first vows. He continued his studies in Philosophy and Theology at the Major Seminary of Pious X, Tainan, Taiwan and on Assumption Day 1992, Philip took his final vows. Having successfully completed his studies, he was ordained a deacon on 28 June 1993 and returned to Malaysia to do his pastoral work. Five months later, on 13 November, he was ordained as a priest at the Church of the Visitation, Seremban. Rev Fr Philip was then posted as Rector of the Minor Seminary in Melaka from 1993 till 1997. In February 1996, he was given an additional assignment as Assistant Priest of the Church of St Francis Xavier, Melaka, in charge of Mandarin-speaking parishioners. In September 1997, Fr Philip went to Ireland for further studies and then to Rome in 1998 to study at the University of St Thomas Aquinas where he obtained his Masters degree (STL) in Spirituality in 2000. After returning to Malaysia in 2000, he spent a year compiling a book on The Spirituality of the CDD as directed by his CDD Superior. On 1 January 2002, he was posted as Assistant Parish Priest to our Church of St Ignatius. The Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur, Right Reverend Murphy Pakiam, installed Rev Fr Philip Tan as Parish Priest of the Church of St Ignatius on Sunday, 6 June 2004.

![]() | Rev Fr Anthony Heng Ann Tan, Assistant Parish Priest He was born in Malacca in 1979 and joined the Congregation of the Disciples of the Lord (CDD) in 1999. In 2000, Anthony made his first vows and began his studies in Philosophy at the St Thomas Aquinas Seminary. He returned to Malaysia in 2003 for a one-year pastoral stint in Petaling Jaya before furthering his studies in Theology at Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan. He graduated two years later, in 2006, and took his perpetual vow in Taiwan. Following a short programme in the College General in Penang, Anthony was ordained as Deacon on 1 May 2007. Six months later, on 9 September, Rev Fr Anthony was ordained as a priest and was posted to the Church of St Ignatius.

![]() | Rev Fr Thomas Loh Siew Pew He was born in Singapore in 1965 to Mr Francis Loh Bun Yee and Madam Theresa Ong Ah Moi. On 1 September 2001, Thomas took his first vows in Taipei and began his studies in Philosophy at the Catholic Regional Seminary in Taiwan. Upon completion of his studies two years later, Thomas returned to Malaysia for a one-year pastoral stint at the Church of St Ignatius, Petaling Jaya. In 2004, he began his studies in Theology at the Fu Jen Catholic University in Taiwan. On 25 August 2008, he took his final vows at the CDD Formation House in Malacca. On 13 December 2008, Thomas was ordained as deacon at the Bishop House at Kuala Lumpur. Rev Fr Thomas Loh was ordained as a priest on 2 February 2009 at St John's Cathedral, Kuala Lumpur. Note: From mid-October 2009, Fr Thomas is on a mission to Toronto Canada where he will assist Fr Francis Chong to pastor to the chinese-speaking Catholics in that city. |
