Introduction
The SIC Charismatic Prayer Group (CPG) had its first prayer meeting with 30 people in attendance on Friday, 29th July 1976 with the blessing of the then Parish Priest, Rev Fr Francis Ng CDD who also was the first CDD priest of St Ignatius Church. Incidentally, it was also on that day when 123 priests and 3 bishops left for a month of prayer and discernment in Penang to seek the Lord’s direction for the churches in Malaysia. The ministry has organised many renewal programmes at SIC as well all over Malaysia, Singapore and Sabah. Many, who were formed from SIC, have moved on to form prayer groups in different churches in the diocese.
Main Activities, Programmes or Events
PRAYER MEETING: Every Friday in Church, 8.00pm-10.00pm (including Praying with people who request personal prayer)
INTERCESSORY PRAYER: Every Tuesday in Church, 8.00pm-10.00pm (with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Praying with people.)
Music Ministry (called Praise Ministry): Practice from 8.00pm-10.00pm, every 2nd & 4th Thursday at Room 2-1, Community Centre.
Novena to the Divine Mercy: Daily @2.30pm from 12th-18th April 2009 at SIC
Novena to the Holy Spirit: Daily after 6.00pm from 22nd-28th May 2009 at SIC in preparation for PENTECOST.
Formation Programmes: Renewal in the Spirit Seminar (RSS); Growth in the Spirit Seminar (GSS); Healing Seminar; Prayer Seminar; Inner Healing Retreat, etc.
